Why “Palmito”?

Because it’s the only palm native to the Iberian Peninsula — rooted in the Mediterranean.
It’s resilient, elegant, and quietly confident.
Just like the kind of spaces I like to design: calm, clear and built to last.

Who’s behind it?

I’m Rocío Olmo, originally from Madrid, where I started my career and spent years working on all kinds of design projects.
Eventually, I moved to the Costa del Sol, looking for a different place and a more balanced way of living (and working).
Here, I found the space to focus on what I enjoy most: full renovations and turnkey projects.

I like being involved from the very beginning — from the first ideas to the final details.
I enjoy solving, refining, making clear decisions and creating spaces that truly work.
And yes, that also look good.

What do we do at Estudio Palmito?

We design spaces that work — and feel right.
We care about layout, light, materials… but also about that moment when everything fits, and the atmosphere just flows.
That feeling that’s hard to explain but easy to sense.
Like the palmito: present, but never loud.

How do we work?

A white round table with a black chain link sculpture on it, and a book titled 'Matisse' and 'Henri Matisse' resting on top. The table is near a textured white rug and a small wooden side table.

With structure, clarity, and a practical mindset.
We listen, analyse and propose — no fluff, no drama.
And if something doesn’t fit, we rethink it. Because design is also about making good decisions, not just pretty moodboards.
